EVEREST TREKKING

Home to the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest (8848m) or Sagarmatha as it is locally known, the Solu Khumbu region has attracted climbers from all over the world since it was first mapped by George Everest. The region received even more fame after Mt. Everest was conquered by Sir Edmund Hilary and Tensing Norgay in 1953. Himalayan Glacier Trekking operates various treks such as ‘Sherpa Villages’, ‘Gokyo’, ‘Everest Base Camp’ and others in the Everest region with many possibilities of adding extra days and destinations to your trip. All the treks described below start and finish in Lukla, a small town having an airstrip, serving as the gateway to the Khumbu region. If you prefer a longer trek then you can start from the town of Jiri, from where it takes 5 days to reach Lukla on foot.

This trek is strictly for those who desire a more challenging experience in the Himalayas; therefore, a high level of physical health and fitness is essential. 21 days (drive in/fly out) and 15 days (fly in/fly out) trekking options are available. Both treks offer a wide range of spectacular scenery combined with unique cultural encounters.
