Nepal Trekking High Altitude Medicine

SETI
The rafting expedition on the river Seti is one of the most beautiful short river expeditions available in Nepal. The warm waters of this river are heated naturally with the help of underground springs and geothermic activity. The expedition on this magnificent river starts from a put-in point at Damouli. You will be in close proximity of the water as you attempt Class-II rapids to begin with. By the end of the trip you should be able to get to real white water and tackle Class-III rapids with confidence. A ratio of one guide to three travelers ensures the highest safety standards and individual attention. A gear raft will ride along with you carrying the food and camping equipment. Accommodation in a lodge is provided only on the first night.

Apart from that this beautiful River passes through stunning jungle scenery, green hills and valleys. It is an excellent river for bird-watchers and those interested in the abundance of nature found on this trip. This normally gentle river has plenty of small and straightforward rapids. During the monsoon months the intensity of the rapids increases and attracts a radically different set of rafters. The Seti is an ideal trip for those wanting to experience some of stunning river scenery in Nepal without the intensity of complex or challenging rapids. It is also very well suited for family trips and is the best river to learn kayaking in Nepal.

OUTLINE ITINERARY
Day 1
You will be taken to our bus, which leaves around 7 AM and will arrive at Damauli 4 to 5 hours later. Once there, the bus is unloaded and the lessons begin. This starts with a detailed safety talk and introduction to kayaking equipment. You will be arranged in groups of three and away you go. The river is calm and before you break into the calm flow you will go through basic strokes and rescue routines. Then when making your way down the river, you will use all the obstacles to handle a kayak. You get out and scout rapids before you run them so you learn what needs to be avoided and which lines are user friendly. You camp on a beautiful beach on a jungle corridor.
Day 2
A day for class II/III-. Camp on a beautiful beach on a jungle corridor.
Day 3
A perfect day to practice what you have learnt so far. You can use the flatter stretches to "catch waves", play in" holes" and practice the roll. The best rapid of the day is Saragat towards the end of the day so you will be ready for it.

Day 4

This is the adrenaline junkies' day. An easy one to start, with then you have to move your kayak across the flow in the rapids, keeping to your guides' line. Learn to relax so you can use the strokes you have learnt and not panic. Enjoy the ride!! You scout the next class III rapids. Test your river reading skills by telling your guide the line you would take. It isn't over yet.... the Seti joins the Trishuli and this junction creates a challenging rapid with waves rebounding off the walls, a grand finale to a great course.

Each person takes away with them a skill and valuable experience to build on the next time they get into a kayak. You reach your take out point at lunch. Food is prepared while the bus is loaded with the equipment and you return to Kathmandu after a well-deserved meal. For those wishing to go to Chitwan NP, the guides will put you on the correct bus and those traveling to Pokhara will get onto a local bus at Mungling. There will be pre-departure meeting at the Kathmandu/Pokhara sales office at 6 pm. Departure details are arranged.
