This trek is a combination of Gokyo Lake and Everest Base Camp. A visit to Gokyo RI (5488m) and Kalapattar (5550m) offers magnificent view of Cho Oyu , Everest Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. Cross over the Cho La (5420M) pass and visit the Everest Base Camp. This trek offers a walk through the most dramatic landscape and magnificent views of the Mountain range in the Khumbu region. This treks specifically designed to coincide with the annual Mani Rimdu festival at Tengboche Monastery. The festival is held around the full moon of the ninth Tibetan month (usually November). This colourful Sherpa masked dance festival is performed and centered around Tengboche monastery - to enhance the well-being of the Sherpas by exorcising demons and evil spirits from the monastery. Our trek coincides with a visit to Tengboche monastery on its final three days of festivities. Seeing colourful dance dramas played out by monks in a spectator packed courtyard of the monastery. This three days festival features masked dances and dramas, which celebrate the victory of Buddhism over the exciting Tibetan bon religion.
