Himalayan Glacier trekking, has more than twelve years experience at helping travelers like you encounter diverse Nepalese cultures, fragile eco-systems and the highest mountains in the world. We excel in this field because we genuinely love what we do and are committed to providing you with the best services. Our culture and environmental sensitiveness is not dictated by theory it is practical. That is why when you travel with us, you are indeed good hands.

We are a small, personalized firm specializing in treks, tours & expedition in Nepal. In time we have started activities in our nearest neighbour Tibet, Bhutan and India. When we first began ours, operating in 1992, we were the only one company to stand against Porter Exploitation, and because of this most of our staff have been with us from the very beginning. This gives us a qualitative advantage over our competition, and provides you, our clients, with an experience of a lifetime. In places like Nepal, money alone doesn't buy good service, relationships, teamwork and trust, established over years of working together, are what buy you a good experience. You reap the benefits of the hard work we have put in over the years.

That is not all, for your convenience we have chosen an office, which is located in heart of Kathmandu, and all our activities start from this central hub. We actively work for departures to all destinations, designing your travel itinerary on local airport-to-airport basis. Culture
We have a strong belief that you "arrive as a guest and depart as a good friend". Your safety and comfort are extremely important to us. That is the reason why we maintain the highest quality of service possible, from carefully designing itineraries for proper acclimatization, to upholding the most scrupulous sanitary standards while preparing and cooking meals while doing the least damage to the environment. This doesn't imply that we are overpriced; in fact our pricing is competitive providing you with the most advanced facilities, which are the same as those provided by western company who also cost up to 4 times more then us.

Strong faith in God
Our guides are trained for backcountry emergencies, including the treatment of acute mountain sickness (AMS) and are well versed in the politics, culture and customs involved in the region of travel. As guests to the areas we travel through, Himalayan Glacier Trekking recognizes the magnitude of our environmental and cultural impact. Our guides are trained to cause the least amount of damage to the environment. "Take photographs, leave only foot prints" is the motto of the company including our Staff, a notable point to understand our professional values. We endeavor to be the role models for those around us and hope that our principles contribute to awareness and change the necessary for reducing the impact of future tourism in these destinations. We also arrange for travel in new regions, off the beaten path to enrich you with experiences of local customs and ceremonies. Local guides introduce you to their family & friends: enjoy a variety of local cuisines, familiarize yourself with the environment and to help support local economies.

Value for Money
The tours we offer have excellent value for money. We believe in true adventure at a competitive price, small group sizes (our preferred group size is min 1 and max 8), flexibility, independence, exploration time, interesting side trips off the beaten path, excellent group gear (tents, sleeping bags, pads, down jackets etc.) in an effort to minimize your travel expenses and maximize your experience. The itineraries we operate have improved services, which include the land costs between your arrival and departure. You can also join trips as described in the itineraries. We offer a wide range of programs you can customize for the tours and treks we organize. With us you also have the option of designing your own itinerary. You can do so by visiting the trip plan page.

Free Trek Bag
Everybody traveling with HGT is provided with a free trekking bag, which is provided on your arrival in Kathmandu. These trek bags have been specially designed for us by one of the country’s top manufacturer and are branded with the Himalayan Glacier Trekking corporate identity.

Made of durable material with strong zips and tough webbing straps they will be found invaluable for carrying your belongings on the trek. They are also rugged enough to withstand the rigors of being carried by porters, yaks or mules for days on end. The bags are waterproof but as an added precaution we recommend packing clothing in plastic bags.

Any time hikes for small group
Many of the trekking and hiking tour operators only guarantee to operate treks/ hikes only when a minimum number of trekkers have signed up. This practice might drastically alter your holiday plans if the required number has not signed up for the treks/hikes. Our minimum requirement for operation is 1 person, which makes planning your holidays easier. We assure your departure on the date of your choice. More flexible and convenient, isn't it?

On-line booking
Our website www.himalayanglacier.com.np features secure on-line booking facilities.

Fabulous Cuisine
All of our meals on trek are a combination of the best local and regional cuisines. Our guides and cooks are renowned for their culinary masterpieces and are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and/or allergies. All of our cooks have a Hotel Management background. They have improved over the years due to their experience with our previous clients. When you stay in major towns in the mountains we provide regional dishes in local teahouse. "Good ingredients mean nothing without careful preparation" so our guides ensure hygienic food preparation standards when they don’t cook themselves as part of the high standard service provided by Himalayan Glacier Trekking.

Safety and Experience
Extreme care has to be taken while on the trek and we believe that no trek is complete without maintaining high standards of safety. Our guides are highly skilled professionals who have been selected based on their technical proficiency, proven safety records, impeccable judgment, patient and supportive teaching styles and grand personalities. These guides are also proficient in technical rescue and evacuation skills.
We have a safety record second to none. Our guides are also trained in wilderness first aid and hygiene; they also possess extensive knowledge of history, culture and geography. First aid kits are provided for all trips. Oxygen is supplied on many of our higher altitude treks and expeditions on request.
As a matter of safety we provide Gamo Bags for groups of at least 6 trekkers. On each trip the group leader, support Sherpas and porters guarantee you a safe and adventurous trip.

A Dream come true!
Your satisfaction is our greatest reward! We understand that this is your holiday and that fun is a part of the adventure, which is why we let you customize your holiday. Our staff will arrange a fun night on the town at the end of your trip.
This is what one of our clients had to say about us after the end of a satisfying trek,

"What a great group, a great staff. It doesn't get any better than what you guys put together. Thanks again for a fabulous trip." Nelson C. from Australia- Makalu 2002 View more comments

Teamwork
It has been our practice to work in a team since our inception. A good homogeneous team is our priority, the result of which makes the impossible to possible. Our leaders, Sherpas, cooks and porters work as a well-balanced team. We recognize them as the pillars of the company. It all possible because we respect them a lot, guarantee them jobs, provide insurance and equipment, and pay them well. We are the only one company in town, which stands against "porter's exploitation".

Environmentally Friendly
Our profession involves respecting and taking pride in nature. An adventure is not only for the present but for the future as well. HGT has been guided by the principle to conduct its operation from generation to generation, protecting the natural bueuty for the ones to follow. Our guides and porters are aware about current environmental problems and are experts at conducting eco-friendly operations. We have lunched various eco projects in the last few years in co- operation with KEEP www.keepnepal.org. Our guides teach local farmers, lodge owners and the porters (who are related directly/in directly in tourism) about how to protect our nature for the future generations.
